Guess who the Secretary of Defense was at the time, our own lovable, Donny Rumsfeld.

Louis CK asked him if he’s a reptilian and if he’s ever eaten human flesh..

redrum redrum…

On Mancow Muller’s show today, Donald Rumsfeld was asked, “No plane hit building 7, why did building 7 come down? What do you tell people?”

Rumsfeld’s answer, “What is building 7?” … “I have no idea. I have never heard that.”

US Gov. Software Creates ‘Fake People’ on Social Networks to Promote Propoganda

The US government is offering private intelligence companies contracts to create software to manage “fake people” on social media sites and create the illusion of consensus on controversial issues.

The contract calls for the development of “Persona Management Software” which would help the user create and manage a variety of distinct fake profiles online. The job listing was discussed in recently leaked emails from the private security firm HBGary after an attack by internet activist last week.

Even watching the first ten min, one sees how far we are into mirroring the Stasi system, mind you, but with much greater ability and technology.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama wants to cut $2.5 billion from a $5 billion home heating aid program for the poor, two people familiar with his 2012 budget proposal said Wednesday, halving the popular fund as he looks for places to rein in federal spending.

The proposal would cut the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program to its 2008 level of about $2.5 billion.

The individuals, including a congressional aide who was briefed on the proposal, discussed the details on condition of anonymity because Obama’s spending plan has not been issued. It was being released on Monday, and covers the budget year beginning Oct. 1.

Obama has said tough choices must be made about how to spend scarce federal dollars to rein in spending and reduce the budget deficit and the nation’s mounting debt.

Why Our National Superbowl TV Party Has Become the Last Supper for the US Empire

Never before have so many loose strands of an unraveling empire come together in a single event accessible to those who mourn or cheer America.

If you are still passionately following football or, worse, allowing your kid to play, you may just be an old-fashioned imperialist running dog. Not that all football fans are bloodthirsty hounds feeding off the crippled hindquarters of the dying animal of empire. Some are in a vain search for a crucible of manhood that no longer exists. Others are in pursuit of a ticket out of a dead-end life.

Whatever your reason, this is the Super Bowl to watch, even if you are among those who have made an effort to disregard the game since high school jocks shouldered you in the halls.

This is the Big One. Maybe the Last Big One. Never before have so many loose strands of an unraveling empire come together in a single event accessible to those who mourn or cheer America.

Oh, do read on brothers and sisters, rah, rah! HOW About them RANGERS!

The Future of the Commons [pdf]

David Harvey
Radical History Review
Issue 109 (Winter 2011)

I have lost count of the number of times I have seen Garrett Hardin’s classic article, “The Tragedy of the Commons,” cited as an irrefutable argument for the superior efficiency of private property rights with respect to land and resource uses and, therefore, as an irrefutable justification for privatization.

(….)

… thinking about the com- mons itself has been enclosed all too often in a far too narrow set of presumptions, largely driven by the example of the land enclosures that occurred in Britain from the sixteenth century onward. As a result, thinking has often polarized between private- property solutions or authoritarian state intervention. From a political per- spective, the whole issue has been clouded over by a gut reaction either for or against enclosure, typically laced with hefty doses of nostalgia for a once- upon- a- time, supposedly moral economy of common action.
